CJSC Azerbaijani Railways (ADY) has revealed plans on the improvement of the quality of passenger transportation services.
ADY chair Javid Gurbanov has stated that presently passenger electric trains of model KISS, produced at the Stadler Minsk factory, are used for passenger turnover between Baku and Sumgait.
"There are 5 such trains and 5 refurbished electric trains on this line. Up to 4,000 passengers are carried daily from Baku to Sumgait and back," Gurbanov said.
He added that until the end of 2016 it is planned to increase the number of Stadler trains up to nine trains and send the trains to the Baku-Ganja line.
